Courtney Vail
Strategic policy advisor/Scientific advisor
Courtney is a senior policy professional who has worked within the conservation and animal welfare field for over 25 years, and has helped guide the Haiti Ocean Project since its inception. With a background in biology, law and environmental policy, she has provided leadership for diverse domestic and international outreach and policy initiatives. Courtney has served as a strategic advisor, facilitator and director of programs for numerous non-governmental organizations, and has led strategic planning and development initiatives in the private sector.
She currently serves as the Executive Director and principal consultant for Lightkeepers, LLC., a boutique consulting firm offering special competency in the fields of environmental and animal welfare policy, including program design and management, collaborative stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, media relations, communications and outreach, and governmental affairs. She holds a B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Science/Natural Resource Management and a M.S. in Psychology.
